Job Title:  Education Manager

Overall Job Description Includes

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• PA Dept. of Health EMT-P or PHRN Certification
• Current AHA Instructor certification for CPR, ACLS, and PALS
• Current other assorted EMS certifications and Instructor status
• EVOC or equivalent
• Hazmat Operations (required within 90 days in position)
• Valid PA Drivers License
• Three (3) years active pre-hospital experience
• Must have strong customer-service and team orientation
• Preferred Education, EMS or Business management degree

Principle Duties and  
Responsibilities: 

• The Education Manager is responsible for the oversight of all training and education aspects of the organization.
• Responsible to update, promote and facilitate a Total Quality Management process, including the utilization of a Quality Leadership Council and Field Training Officer program including Q.A./C.Q.I.
• Oversight of the S.V.E.M.S. - A.H.A. C.T.C., PA DOH Continuing Education site, SVEMS related EMT and Paramedic Programs and Clinical Liasion with outside organizations.
• The position includes the authority and responsibility for the direct and indirect clinical supervision and general oversight of all the Operational Staff and Paramedic/PHRN Field Supervisors.
• Assist the C.O.O. with the monitoring and evaluation of policies and operational procedures and advising as to their effectiveness and utilization as they are involved clinically.
• Communicates with the C.O.O. This includes issues, problems, conflicts, actions or recommendations for improvement which develop in performance of the Education Manager position.
• Consistently engage in problem and conflict exploration review, analysis and resolution strategies consistent with this job description as well as Organizational Policies and Procedures.
• Coordinate the interview process, hiring, orienting, counseling and evaluating of Clinical staff.
• Meets regularly with the Management Team concerning patient situations to resolve clinical and administrative problems.

Other Duties

• Assure staff compliance to respective job descriptions.
• Recommend to the C.O.O. and Service Medical Director clnical remediation vs. disciplinary action of clinical staff.
• Administer basic and advanced life support care to patients at the scene and during transport according to established ALS treatment protocols, EMT-Paramedic Standards of practice and in accordance with Pennsylvania EMS legislation.
• Assure assigned vehicle and equipment are in good working order and are appropriately stocked and equipped.
• Provide supplemental staffing within operation sector as required.
• Evaluate new equipment, devices or treatment techniques as approved by the Medical Director and C.O.O.
• On-scene incident management command within SVEMS response area or as requested by LCWC.
• Monitor and reassign personnel and/or unit deployment based upon system status plan.
• Perform initial investigation and documentation of SVEMS vehicle accidents, personnel injuries, blood borne or airborne pathogens exposures to SVEMS personnel and incidents involving injuries to the general public or property damage.
• Assist in resolving dispatch, system status and operational difficulties or concerns as necessary, as well as the daily supervision of the operations for the organization or as a field provider when required.

Outline of Responsibilities  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversight as primary supervisor for the Education Team as Platoon Supervisor.
• When acting as Duty Supervisor, supervises daily shift activities including but not limited to monitoring tardiness, proper uniform compliance, and completion of assigned duties within appropriate time frames, response of personnel to calls within appropriate time frames and appropriate utilization of PPE. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• High physical mobility, which includes movement from place to place.
• High physical agility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in place.
• High physical strength to handle movement of materials, tools.
• High physical strength to handle 80 lbs. taking frequency into consideration.

Job Title:  Full Time Paramedic Supervisor

To provide emergency medical care and transportation to the sick and injured in accordance with departmental guidelines and
Act 45.

Schedule:

Qualifications and  
Requirements: 

• Current PA Emergency Medical Technician Certification
• Current CPR
• EVOC Certification
• Haz Mat Operations course (within 3 months)
• Valid PA Driver’s license
• Compliance to Act 45 and pursuant
  rules and regulations
• Minimum 6 months emergency medicine
  experience, 1 year preferred

Principle Duties and  
Responsibilities: 

• Function as a member of a MICU team providing
  efficient and prompt care in a calm manner in
  accordance with training standards set forth by the
  national standards curriculum, PA DOH and unit
  medical director.
• Operate emergency vehicles in a safe manner
  adhering to department guidelines and
  PA vehicle code.
• Inspect all EMS equipment at start of
  shift to insure presence and function.
• Inspect assigned EMS vehicle to
  insure cleanliness and good working order.
• Adhere to all SVEMS policies and procedures.
• Adhere to all EHSF and Department of
  Health regulations and standards.
• Complete all tripsheets and paperwork
  within a 24-hour time frame maintaining
  the highest of standards and patient confidentiality.
• Complete transports as required in a
  prompt safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain an effective and courteous working
  relationship with peers, area hospital personnel,
  patients and management staff.
• Completion of all daily station duties as assigned.
• Attend all required meetings.
• Continually attend seminars and training

To provide safe and efficient transportation to wheelchair van clients as scheduled. This includes insuring on a daily basis that the wheelchair van is ready for operation, data entry, clerical functions and other job related assignments as required.

• Valid PA Driver’s License
• Valid certification of, at a minimum, Red Cross
  Emergency Responder or PA DOH First
 
Responder Certification.
• Current CPR Status
• Demonstrate strong people skills
• Posses a general knowledge of Lancaster County
  and be able to read a map book as well as
  follow verbal and written directions


Principle Duties and  
Responsibilities: 

Operational Responsibilities

• Check wheelchair van at beginning of each shift,
  assuring vehicle and equipment are ready
  for the day’s operation.
• Operate all SVEMS vehicles in a safe manner
  adhering to department guidelines and
  PA vehicle code.
• Inspect all equipment at start of shift
  to insure proper function.
• Adhere to all SVEMS policies and procedures.
• Restock unit and equipment when necessary.
• Assure all necessary paperwork is in order
  for the day’s operations. This includes all
  appropriate copies and schedule.
• Collect all red bags and linen bags to be
  disposed of properly.
• Adapt to change as additional transports
  come in and/or existing transports get
  canceled or changed.
• Other assigned job related functions
  as deemed necessary.

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities

• Appropriate completion of paperwork within
  a 24-hour time frame maintaining the highest
  of standards and patient confidentiality.

Job Title:  Fleet Maintenance Mechanic

Fleet Manager

Summary: 

This position is responsible for assisting the fleet manager to perform skilled preventive maintenance, repair, outfitting, and servicing of a variety of company automobiles, trucks, and equipment; performs other work as required.

Schedule: 

Full Time      Part Time

Primary Function: 

Mechanic Activities 90%


• Maintains varied equipment and vehicles; diagnoses vehicle and equipment problems and performs major repairs.
Outfits and maintains emergency and other company vehicles.
• Schedules and coordinates maintenance of equipment.
• Purchases parts and materials.
• Collects data and organizes material for budget requests.
• Schedules appointments and maintains computerized maintenance records.


Secondary Job Functions: 

10% of time


• Interior and exterior cleanup of fleet vehicles.
Inventory of Emergency Vehicles.
• Cleanup of work areas.
• Assists with design specifications of vehicles and equipment purchased and installed.
• May provide twenty-four hour standby for vehicle emergency maintenance needs.
